These release notes describe the new features and improvements in SolarWinds Service Desk (SWSD). In addition, they provide information about upgrades and detailed workarounds for known issues.

New features and improvements
Asset discovery

Signed Mac agent. New agent installation file allows for faster automated deployment of Mac agents.

Import computers from a CSV file. Provides for more accurate inventory, including computers that are unopened (stock).
Automation

New variable to identify change type. Change-related automation rules now enable technicians to differentiate between change requests that originated from change catalog items vs ad-hoc changes. This feature allows technicians to not only set priorities but it also provides better control over changes that are not repetitive.
Data analysis

Reports - Incidents: Stack incidents by the Closed By field. Provides ability to slice and dice data based on additional categories. Includes incidents that were closed through first-touch resolution.

A toggle for reverting to old email templates. Helps you get more surveys filled for better quality assessment.
Scale & efficiency

Home button in the navigation menu. Provides a configurable shortcut to user’s most visited page.

Ability to change solution creator. Allows administrators to have a unified solution creator or change the creator if someone leaves the organization.

Intune government cloud support. Allows import of Intune mobile assets from a government cloud Azure environment. A new step in the integration instructions explains how.

Documentation links. Makes documentation and self-help information more easily accessible.
